What does PXT measure?

PXT measures cognitive ability, behaviour traits and interests as they relate to preferred traits for a given job. Utilising a pre-hire assessment helps to place the right people in the right positions. The PXT Select pre-employment assessment is based on over 20 years of research and rigorous validation, prioritising quality with scientific data.

Cognitive Ability

The ability of an individual to perform the various mental activities most closely associated with learning and problem solving.

Behavioural Traits

Habitual patterns of behaviour, thought and emotion, they provide a foundation for predicting behaviour.

Interests

Rates the three most relevant interests as they relate to the Performance Model.

The assessment measures three Sections: Thinking Style, Behavioural Traits, and Interests. These three areas that impact an individual’s approach to situations in the workplace measure if someone can do the job, how they do the job and if they enjoy the job.

  • Choose from a library of Performance Models or tailor existing models to better suit the position.
  • Send the assessment for your candidates to complete.
  • The system will compare candidates’ results against the Performance Model chosen and provide fit scores.
  • The report will provide a list of suggested questions to cover during the interview process.

Because of the Computer Adaptive Testing feature, every user has a different experience. As a result, the time to complete can vary from person to person. We recommend candidates set aside approximately 60 minutes to complete the assessment.
